Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

A review of some of the absinthe currently being imported. Sadly, the reviewer's fav is an import at $170 a bottle.

Semi-return of Farscape?

Ten 'webisodes', done by Jim Henson Co., probably starring Browder & Black. Browder has something interesting-sounding in the works...

Microsoft flubs a Vista update and prevents uninstalling programs

*sigh*

Presumably they'll have a fix for this soon. If you install programs after this patch, them you can uninstall -- you just can't uninstall anything installed before the patch was applied.

Harry Potter Spells: The Best & Worst

Cute stuff. I agree, a lot of the Potter magic seems rather silly. But man, the big fight in the new movie shows some really cool stuff! Then again, it's obvious that the stuff that they're learning in school is strictly fundamentals except for some of the stuff that Harry learns, like the Patronus.

Man, airlines suck

We're trying to fly to Maine to visit Russet's mother and sister. Russet has a $400 voucher for An Airline Who Must Not Be Named (they base out of Atlanta). Their web site plainly says that you can use your voucher on the web site. So Russ books the trip, goes to pay for it, and there's no where to enter the voucher number. So she calls them. After an eternity of playing with their IVR system (interactive voice response) and on hold, someone with poor English skills adds a huge language barrier, and eventually we find out that she can't use the voucher online or on the phone, she has to drive to El Paso and buy the tickets in person.

It's so nice to see airlines making such an effort to simplify travel by having up-to-date information and processes on their web sites.
