Dangerous streaming TV channel....

Acorn TV has a streaming service: $8 a month or $80 a year. Available for Apple TV, Roku, Android Fire, and Chromecast. Described as Netflix for people who like British TV....

I love Doc Martin and Pie In The Sky, and last week I borrowed Set 1 of Midsomer Murders, our uni library has a complete run! Turns out that Set 1 is not Series 1, which really made me mad, it's mostly season 3, IIRC. Set 5 contains the pilot and season 1. So we watched set 1, enjoyed it, I returned it yesterday and borrowed set 5.

I have Doc Martin 1-7, season 8 is the latest available as far as I know, and the last I checked I can get it for about $25 on Ebay. Pie In The Sky is more elusive, but about the same price on Ebay. MUCH more expensive on Amazon!

And Acorn.tv has all three series....

So yeah, probably going to add another streaming service for at least a couple of months. I need to finish Doc Martin 7 first and figure out what comedies Acorn.tv has that might be interesting.

And that's the web url: Acorn.tv.

If you like Monty Python and have Netflix....

I found a documentary called Before The Flying Circus and got around to watching it tonight. It's only 55 minutes, made in 2000, and was quite good. Takes them through their school years, up through the inception of Python and the broadcast of the first episode. It had a lot more detail that I was previously unaware of.

If you're not a fan of Monty Python, then don't bother. If you don't have Netflix, then you can bug a nearby friend who does!
