Forget playing Doom in a PDF, how about playing it on a video cable!

Sadly lacking in details, this developer, "Nyan Satan" (his YouTube channel name) convinced an Apple $50 Lightning to HDMI adapter cable to run Doom! But at least he made a video demo of it running.

The adaptation of the Lightning protocol to the HDMI protocol requires more than a bit of work. The cable contains a microprocessor with a very scaled-down version of Apple's iPhone operating system, iOS. And Nyan got into the CPU and convinced it to dance to his tune!

Now, here's the interesting bit: that cable adapter's CPU has more processing power than most of the PC's that we were running back in the '90s when Doom released!

Swiss tax authority screws up printing fliers, has to buy the domain name for the Bahamas!

This is pretty amazing! And a bit costly.

The tax authority of the canton ('state') of Basil-Stadt didn't do a good job of proff-reding a new flyer before committing to the print run. Instead of the URL ending in .bs.ch, the .ch being Switzerland's ccTLD (country code top-level domain), the .ch was left off. .bs is the national code of the Bahamas!

It would cost approx $100,000 to reprint and remail the fliers.

The cost to buy the .bs domain from the Bahamas and administer it? About $1,000.

So the Bahamas ccTLD is now administered by a Swiss canton's tax authority!
