Tacoma TB Tammy consents to home treatment, released from jail

She spent 22 days in jail in a negative pressure room and will now go home and supposedly be treated. She is required to allow health workers and law enforcement into her house, the former to witness her taking her meds. I have no idea if this is a daily dose.

She's not allowed to travel except for medical visits, and the health department will arrange transport for those. Anything else, and she's likely to end up in jail again.

Gee, her going back to jail - what are the odds of that happening? Aside from an almost certainty.

The one thing the article did not address was whether she began treatment while being held.

Yeah, it's not clear whether she's started the treatment already, but if she'll be taking it under supervision that's good.

I just hopes that she goes along with it long enough that she's a) no longer contagious and b) cured. It's b) that's the biggest if, I think.

Well, so long as she has reasons to stay put, and that her needs are taken care of while she's in isolation, there's a good chance she might make it all the way through the treatment process. But if there's a gap somewhere, such that she has to go out or face eviction or worse, well, sucks to be you, health department.
