Because they're not designed for repair in mind, I basically have the belief that phones and tablets should be run into the ground as much as possible and only transferred to a new device when it's abundantly clear that the current one cannot be used for much longer. And while there are electronics recycling programs around, it's still very clear from the way they're manufactured and supported that there's no belief in these companies in anything other than planned obsolescence.
