People don't realize how much movie/video production take place. It's interesting to go to a [state/city] film office and see what stuff was filmed in your area. IIRC, IMDB has the ability to pull up a location and see what was filmed there.
For example, the opening to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho was filmed in Phoenix, as was Clint Eastwood's The Gauntlet. I can show you where things took place. And the week after I started working for my new employer, a co-worker was in a TV movie about illegal immigration: he was driving a van full of illegals and got stopped by Border Patrol. He got to take some shots at the cops then run across the desert! It's an occasional topic in the office.
