Is the Virginia AG related to John Ashcroft?

Apparently he is offended by the fact that the Virginia State Seal has the exposed breast of the Roman goddess of Virtue standing over a defeated tyrant, so he wants a breast plate put on her to make it PG.

I guess Virginia has no more criminals and he has nothing better to do.

I just don't get why people have such a hang up on breasts and nudity in art and want to remove it all. Ashcroft's covering of the statues in the DOJ, etc. It's not like this is serious masturbation material.

There is a neat exhibit in the lobby of the VA Capitol building of all the different versions of the Commonwealth's seal. A version of the artwork was even on uniform buttons during the Civil War. I guess the mass-market ignorance of "journalists" is irritating me more than usual today because I just returned home from a historian's conference -- filled with knowledgeable folks.
