Israel vows to retaliate after credit cards are hacked

This was a statement from the Israeli deputy foreign minister. The BBC lead-in: "Israel has said it will respond to cyber-attacks in the same way it responds to violent "terrorist" acts after the credit card details of thousands of its citizens were published online."

This was not a terrorist event, this was not an attack against Israel, this was weak security by whatever bank held these cards. Yeah, I'm sure this will end well.

This sounds a lot like the smallest guy in the room making the loudest noise and claiming he's going to frak everyone up.

Problem is that the nation state of Israel has a history of frakking people up. I'm curious how long this particular deputy foreign minister is going to stay in his current position.

From the one person I know on the blogroll there, it sounds like such bellicosity would guarantee them to stay in the position, rather than have them moved or removed from it.

Unfortunately that is a distinct possibility.
