I think Santorum's started his 2016 campaign rhetoric early

"Don't use the term the other side uses. Who does Barack Obama talk about all the time? The middle class. Since when in America do we have classes? Since when in America are people stuck in areas or defined places called a class? That's Marxism talk."
—Rick Santorum

I don't think this really needs much of a comment by me.

I like this headline in particular:

Santorum says ‘Middle Class’ talk is Marxism, then inadvertently advocates actual Marxism

And he still doesn't seem to understand the internet and the fact that his use of the term "middle class" from the last campaign is everywhere.

It does look from the outside like the government is already starting to gear up for 2016. Don't these people have work they're supposed to be doing?

I wish I had an explanation. I really like a couple of Australia's methodologies for doing elections: a four week campaign cycle and you are required BY LAW to vote, if you don't you get fined.

Rachel Maddow refuses to discuss things in terms of 2016 potential candidates, I really appreciate that.

Santorum is a very queer bird. He rails against higher education when he has an MBA and JD. The dude is pathologically inconsistent. I begin to think that he wants an medieval caste system with the upper class and the peons, and nothing inbetween.

Not inconsistent, Republican. Who very much prefer the feudal system of nobles, clergy (of the right kind), and serfs to representative democracy.

And, like a proper Republican expecting election, after saying not to do something, he offered no alternative solutions.

I think that the thing that scares me the most is if after Obama is out of office, that the RNC remains the obstructionist party whenever they don't have absolute control of the Presidency and Congress.

If that happens, they will hopefully face relegation and some other party will come to the fore. Would be nice if it were the liberals versus the Democrats.
