It did say that it can be transmitted through saliva and abrasions. I'd be pretty concerned, too. Though it's unlikely, it is possible. By the time the symptoms appear, it's too late.

If the skin is broken at all, then I agree with you 100%. And I undoubtably would be seeking serum and medical care in her shoes, too. But I would not be freaking out, I'd like to hope, if my skin hadn't been breached.
