RIP: Christopher Tolkien, aged 95
Chris was the youngest son of JRR and was the head and executor of his estate. He was not happy with Peter Jackson's six movies, but seeing as to how many people he exposed his father's material to and how many tonnes of money he made for the estate, I imagine a lot of his objection was somewhat mollified.
He did a lot of work editing JRR's work while his father was alive and a few years ago announced that he'd reached the end of the material and there were no more complete stories to be extracted from the original material.

The biography for Chris on Wikipedia was quite interesting. He followed his dad’s path at Cambridge and published in his own right, but ended up devoting a considerable amount of his own life to his dad’s written body of work.
He was also a reserve pilot in WW II.
