Not so "smart" smart watches

Since Monday I've been doing elliptical trainer workouts, we bought one ages ago. And I use my Apple Watch 6 to log them. I only do elliptical workouts, typically five a day for about 5-7 minutes for a total of half an hour a day. And I've noticed improvement in this short period of time.

I thought I'd try something different before starting a workout. I triggered Siri and instead of saying 'Start elliptical workout', I said 'Guess which elliptical workout I want to start'.

Now, it should be obvious. Through geolocation, the phone and watch know I'm at home. Through history, they know the only exercising that I do is elliptical and stairs at work.

Should be an easy answer, right?

Nope.

Instead, Siri says "What workout do you wish to begin?"

Doesn't even posit a question!

So much for "smart" watches!

Yeah, for as much as we're supposed to have smart gadgets, they're really nothing like what we envisioned in Star Trek.
