Official She-Hulk trailer - looks REALLY good!
Disney+ streaming, of course. Starring Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black, I'm glad to see her getting some major attention, she's extremely talented.

Male hulk is not a skinny bloke with big arms. He's crazy large, and taller and broader than a normal human. Why is She-hulk not built on the same scale? Look at female weightlifters, other body shapes exist.
This shit gets on my tits. It would have been so cool to have a big (yes, fat) woman in the title role, who could hulk out even more and be powerful and cool and not the same old shit.
Yeah yeah, some twat is going to whine that She-hulk needs to look sexy. Does he insist that Hulk needs to look sexy for him too? FFS.

TBH, I watched it on a small frame on my laptop, so I didn't see it large and was going off of an overall impression on poor visual detail. I agree, a larger woman would be better. I never bought the She Hulk comic, only read it when she crossed over into the titles that I regularly bought.

Or to put it another way. Would you see Hulk going on dates while green? When Hulk is green, he smashes shit up, he's emotionally out of control! He is REALLY not in the right frame of mind for "dating." Yeah, he'll take care to be nice to kids and innocents and not hurt them while he's in the zone, but otherwise... raaaaaahhhh! And yeah, the point is he is wrathful and smashy because he's been pushed.
Maybe we'll get to see She-Hulk occasionally lose her shit and smash the shit out of things, but I fear we'll also see her mostly green and pretty and being nice... because women are supposed to be nice, no matter what. Like bloody He-Man and She-Rah. When there is a problem that needs fixing, He-Man punches his way out of it and throws rocks around... She-Rah will "telepathically reason with the monster" and ask it nicely to go away. You just wish that for once they'd try out each others solutions...so She-Rah would smash shit and He-Man could placate the monster by asking nicely. Yadda yadda.
AAAARRRH!!!!

Disney is ever so slowly being dragged into the QUILTBAG/non-gender-conforming spectrum, and fearing the slightest dip in their profits every step along the way. I never specifically bought She-Hulk comics, she occasionally appeared in Hulk (which I also didn't buy) and other comics that I read, but what I vaguely remembered she absolutely loses her shit and tears stuff up. What this interpretation does, time will tell, but I expect there will be massive property damage at many points as this will probably also serve as a link to get her into the film canon.

None of this answers your complaints, really. The management at Marvel wasn't going to go in that direction with the MCU version of She-Hulk to begin with. The character's looked like variations on this for most of her comics existence, with relatively brief interruptions. Animated shows have remained consistent with that.

I'm an ex-cartoonist and games artist/animator, and to be frank, the same old same old is boring and lacks imagination. It's a large comics universe, with no shortage of trope characters so I get frustrated that non-white or non-trope body opportunities are so rare. For every 20 white supermodel bodied characters, would it break people's minds to have one bigger woman? (For the troll fans, yes.) She-Hulk would have been a perfect opportunity for easing out of the stereotype, and giving a huge swathe of people, (both male and female) a chance to see themselves in the character. For younger people in particular, this is so important. Yadda yadda tradition but sometimes genres should grow up a little. So frustrating.

I've also seen just about all of Green Guy from the horrid 60s cartoon, through Bixby's take, down the hole with Ang Lee and back up with Norton and Ruffalo. We loved the "baseline" bit in the trailer, and the "you'll like her when she's angry" line is a nice throwback to the tv show.

There are some replies that discuss that.

That is probably the overriding reason. She's a hot property right now.
