Trump seems to be deliberately provoking judge while on witness stand

According to attorney Alan Dershowitz, it's not an uncommon strategy. If you think you cannot receive a fair trial in front of a particular judge, stress the judge into making bad calls that can then be overturned on appeal. Dershowitz worked this in the Chicago Seven case successfully. In Trump's case, I think Engoron is made of pretty stern stuff and is unlikely to make mistakes, but time will tell as the trial continues to play out.

The thing that I find amusing is that Engoron has already essentially made a finding of guilt. The evidence presented by the State was sufficiently overwhelming for him to do that, and from what I've read thus far, the defense has not produced anything convincing to counterbalance, much less truly refute that. The Boopsie Twins, err, Don Jr. and Eric, did such a marvelous job of denying any responsibility while on the stand, meanwhile their cousin goes on Twitter saying 'Eric says his job is to pour concrete, which he's never done a day in his life.'

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, when supposedly The Princess is supposed to testify, even though it's a school week. I would think she can afford to get a sitter.

The thing that I love the most about this whole imbroglio? Mar a Laugho is owned by a NEW YORK LLC. It could be on the chopping block to be sold with the rest of his New York properties! I don't know if it is or isn't, but seems like it's a possibility!

One of the best parts is that there's a reason why this case is being heard in front of a judge and not in front of a jury: TRUMP'S LEGAL TEAM SCREWED UP! They failed to request a jury trial! All of Trump's bleating about how he's being persecuted and 'it's a witch hunt!' is falling on the completely deaf ears of Judge Eregorn. They failed to get the paperwork filed properly or promptly, and now they're stuck. Nobody's fault but theirs.

The worst part is that none of this will be resolved before the election next year, with appeals etc. However, since this is happening at the state level, if somehow the twit should regain the presidency (Buddha help us all!) he can't do much to stop it.

The Orange Menace is doing what he does best - being a noisy, capering buffoon. It's not working, of course, because everybody knows what an ignorant, opinionated, self-centered asshole he is. The further away he gets from the New York metro area, the more comfortable I will be. In addition to several types of fraud, he should be prosecuted for sexual assault, inciting to riot, adultery, And I'm sure he committed various crimes in the course of obtaining passports for his high-cheekboned blonde Slavic beauty pageant winners.

The only thing the two older boys have ever poured is designer spring water into a Waterford crystal goblet.

For sure not going to be resolved before next year? I was really hoping it would be resolved by March or so.

Hopefully not, but his team's already learned from past mistakes in evil-doing...so I'm hoping that the judge and their staff can all keep themselves safe enough long enough.

Maybe he's playing to the electorate instead of the court - if he can get himself elected maybe he thinks he'll be safer from the judiciary. (It's not as if he has any sound legal basis to escape prison, after all!)

This is a man who believes himself above the law, and who wants to get back into an office where he believes he can be above the law, and who has a team of lawyers whose job is to find or manufacture whatever loophole is needed to get him away from suffering consequences. Who he will not pay, because he believes they should work for him for free because of who he is.

When everything collapses, it will be fantastic to watch, but there's still far too many things in the air that aren't collapsing for us to believe that he'll be properly sunk by the time the election rolls around.
