Trump seems to be deliberately provoking judge while on witness stand
According to attorney Alan Dershowitz, it's not an uncommon strategy. If you think you cannot receive a fair trial in front of a particular judge, stress the judge into making bad calls that can then be overturned on appeal. Dershowitz worked this in the Chicago Seven case successfully. In Trump's case, I think Engoron is made of pretty stern stuff and is unlikely to make mistakes, but time will tell as the trial continues to play out.
The thing that I find amusing is that Engoron has already essentially made a finding of guilt. The evidence presented by the State was sufficiently overwhelming for him to do that, and from what I've read thus far, the defense has not produced anything convincing to counterbalance, much less truly refute that. The Boopsie Twins, err, Don Jr. and Eric, did such a marvelous job of denying any responsibility while on the stand, meanwhile their cousin goes on Twitter saying 'Eric says his job is to pour concrete, which he's never done a day in his life.'
I'm looking forward to tomorrow, when supposedly The Princess is supposed to testify, even though it's a school week. I would think she can afford to get a sitter.
The thing that I love the most about this whole imbroglio? Mar a Laugho is owned by a NEW YORK LLC. It could be on the chopping block to be sold with the rest of his New York properties! I don't know if it is or isn't, but seems like it's a possibility!
One of the best parts is that there's a reason why this case is being heard in front of a judge and not in front of a jury: TRUMP'S LEGAL TEAM SCREWED UP! They failed to request a jury trial! All of Trump's bleating about how he's being persecuted and 'it's a witch hunt!' is falling on the completely deaf ears of Judge Eregorn. They failed to get the paperwork filed properly or promptly, and now they're stuck. Nobody's fault but theirs.
The worst part is that none of this will be resolved before the election next year, with appeals etc. However, since this is happening at the state level, if somehow the twit should regain the presidency (Buddha help us all!) he can't do much to stop it.

There's a couple of problems. The MAGA die-hards are perhaps 30% or so of the country, and that's optimistic. He is not well-liked, ignoring the "polls". The numbers just are not there, largely because he succeeded in killing off a lot of his base in the pandemic. The RNC understands that their base is dying off: it's old and white and not replenishing, that's why they have to gerrymander and rig elections through voting restrictions to win. He can appeal to his base all he wants: his base just isn't that big. But if he somehow manages to become president, he can't pardon himself: he can only pardon himself for Federal crimes. This is a state prosecution, as is the Georgia case. Being president doesn't give him much more power for trying to wiggle out of these problems! Now, the Florida documents case and the DC election tampering cases: those he'd have much more power over as those are Federal cases.
