In other streaming television news, Apple TV+ and Paramount may be combining!

Now THIS I like! I currently pay for, and will maintain, my Apple TV subscription. Getting Paramount on it would be great so I could see Star Trek Below Decks and the entire Picard series! I can't say there's much else on Paramount that interests me, but that could change.

Currently, Disney+ is also streaming Hulu and ESPN in a similar bundle since they own both properties.

I finally bundled up my Disney+ and Hulu when they raised prices this Fall.
It was cheaper to bundle. :)

Some consolidation would be welcome, ridiculous when one adds up the different subscriptions that might be needed for shows one'd want to see.

It truly is!  We pretty much killed cable and satellite because of ridiculous bundling, and now I would say we're getting nickled and dimed on streaming, but it's $10-20 per service!  Just as bad!

Whichever service figures out that the real answer is "one login, all the services," even if the stuff is on embargo for six months or a year, they're going to win. And they're going to win bigger if they also figure out how to make it so they can sell institutional logins to public libraries and the like.

We were evaluating a streaming service for my library, Kanopy.  They do plays and movies, focusing on documentaries and Broadway-type stuff.  Pretty cool stuff.  I was about 3/4ths through a Frank Zappa bio pic when our evaluation expired.  I expect we'll pick it up.  While I've never been a huge fan of Zappa's music, this movie certainly gave me a fresh perspective on the man and an amazing respect for his talent.

Kanopy is getting better and offering more things. (We have it.) It's still not the same as having a premium subscription available for library people, though.

No, not the same at all.  But lots of cool stuff if you have weird and eclectic taste.
