RIP: Comedian Richard Lewis

Lewis was well-known for appearing on Curb Your Enthusiasm, he was a stand-up and appeared in various films and TV shows. For me, it was Mel Brooks' Robin Hood: Men In Tights as Prince John. A brilliant performance in a very silly movie.

He had been battling Parkinsons for several years. He was 76. The big band upstairs now has another for one heck of an opening act! Can you imagine him and Robin Williams firing back and forth? OMG!!!

Yeah, I don't recall it being mentioned either.  Nasty disease.  As if there are any good ones.

A very very nasty disease. My mother was diagnosed with it in her 30s. It pretty much destroyed her over 40 years.

His solo comedy work made me laugh, though he hadn't done so much recently.

No, the article said he gave up standup for acting.  He was a good standup, definitely.

He's also most memorably Prince John for me, but I have seen him in other places and other roles throughout time. Sad that Parkinson's was something he had, and sadder still that a heart attack got him.

it was his stand-up comedy that won me over from the 80s/90s. Sad day :(
