The Department of Homeland Security, looking more and more like the Catholic Church every day...

Is your institution... a goer? Say no more, say no more.

I feel secure, don't you?

As heinous as this person is, what is also concerning it the fact that he is obviously a total, complete, whole, unadulterated fucking idiot.

Told the 'girl' his name, where he worked, gave her his home phone, work phone and (government supplied) cell phone.

Maybe working at Homeland Security made him feel invulnerable or something. There was a Mass State Trooper arrested last month for doing something similar. Don't you think a state trooper would know better?

It wouldn't surprise me if the rest of Homeland Security are as stupid as he is.

Interesting observation on the invulnerable thing, I would say that is a definite possibility. Also recently a NASA administrator was taken into custody for swapping child porn and using his work computer to do it. Portions of the subpeona appeared on Smoking Gun.

I remember when I was working with Phoenix PD, they took down a Public Safety (Highway Patrol) Sergeant who ran a BBS from his home (this was mid 90's when BBSs were still around), busted for porn on his system. If I recall correctly, he mounted a successful defense that people who dialed into the board put it there and he had no direct control over it.

Still, yes, a State Trooper should have been a little smarter than that.
