More thoughts on the road

Last weekend when we were driving from Ohio to Omaha, we saw several three-trailer semi trucks tooling along. I don't remember the last time I saw one down in the southern part of the country.

Also, I don't like toll roads. The one in W VA that we took up to Ohio particularly ticked me off as we had to stop two or three times to pay tolls. Suckage.

I like toll roads. I would far rather pay specific user fees than vague taxes. I go through 3 tolls booths between my house and downtown Richmond (a 20 minute drive), so only 3 across a whole state isn't bad at all. :-)

I might dislike them less if I lived near them, because then I would have the electronic payment system.

I haven't seen any three-trailer semi trucks here. They just recently changed the rules on I-35 here so the trucks can't be in the fast lane so now they zooom down the middle lane!

Tey're fixin to open 3 toll roads here this year - and come out wth a tolltag we can use here, Dallas and Houston. At the moment we don't have any toll roads here.

I use them in Dallas and Houston because of traffic - traffic isn't so bad here and since I'm now a bus riding traveller ;) I'm not worrying about tolls.
