New Iconage

As I drove down to Las Cruces today, my laptop/MP3 player (no, not the laptop with the failing hard drive) played the part of Alan Parsons Project's Tales of Mystery and Imagination, specifically Orson Welles' narration of Dream Within A Dream.

Welles was such a great narrator. I'm really tempted to get a microphone with good bass response and try my hand (or voice, perhaps to be more accurate) with podcasting snippets like that.

Anyway, I thought it would make a great minifesto icon.

YAY!!! for TAPP... I really like the music, esp. the albums Tales of Mystery and Imagination, Freudiana and Anthology. Btw. the Cologne Musical Dome was built for Gaudi... :)

I don't have Freudiana, I think the last one that I have is the balloon album. I've listened to TAPP for a very long time, I really like Tales of Mystery, but I think my favs are Eye in the Sky, I Robot, and Stereotomy. There are parts of Ammonia Avenue that I like, but there are parts of all of them that I like.

Are you familiar with Emmerson, Lake & Palmer? They had some pretty good stuff. They also incarnated as other permutations into Three and as Emmerson, Lake & Powell.

If you go to studio aka (studioaka.com), in their category for non-commercial work, they have some bits of that— I think— animated in a strange and fascinating manner.

Even if it's some OTHER Orson Welles narration, it's worth the look. As is everything else on that site. (I *know* you like good animation.)
