Yes, the founder/lead singer of KISS. Yes, it's basically The Osbornes with a different family. But in this case, they are not a hideously disfunctional family -- the entire family is articulate, intelligent, and seems to be reasonably well-adjusted. 3/4ths of the dialog isn't bleeped out, in fact, I think I've heard two bleeps out of the four or five episodes that I've seen. I'm finding it to be pretty darn funny: his family doesn't let him get away with anything!

I pulled up KISS on Wikipedia as I've never really followed them, they just weren't my taste in music (I didn't know that Paul "Ace" Frehley (lead guitar and vocals) and Peter Criss (drummer/vocals) left the band because of drug use and creative differences. Simmons was born in Israel and raised Jewish, which I was kind of surprised to find out.

Anyway, it's a fun half hour.

damn... i think i need to see that. though i have absolutely no idea how to go about it.

oh... and i did know taht gene simmons was born in israel and raised jewish. but then, i was a bit of a fan in my pre-pubescent days. peter criss was one of my first major crushes. :)

Nah, he was such a dick to Terry Gross, one of my favorite heroes, on All Things Considered that I really don't want to hear anything else the guy has to say.

I hadn't heard about the Fresh Air interview until later. I'm going to have to look for the transcript, apparently Simmons refused permission to let them release the streamed feed online.

That's one thing that I really miss about Phoenix. We had Fresh Air on at 2pm, here it's at 6pm and not nearly as a convenient time slot, so basically it is VERY rare that I get to hear it anymore.
