Two anti-war protesters banned from Canada: the FBI put them in a criminal records database

They've been arrested for non-violent, peaceful protests, and now the FBI has put them in the NCIC international database that is usually reserved for murderers, rapists, etc. They go to attend a peace conference in Canada and are detained and denied entry at the border because of this.

The story hasn't really appeared in American news, it's making a lot more of a row in Canadia. Traditionally Canada has been very receptive of peace activists.

It would seem that the FBI has gone from being wielded by Hoover for political ends, to being somewhat politically neutral (except for the civil rights movements, among other things) to being wielded by The Shrub for political ends.

No abuse of power here, nope, move along! We know who you are!

Assuming that all it was was peaceful protest, then there's absolutely no cause for those two to be on any sort of FBI list, and thus for even the opportunity to have the, be denied entry. Might very well be time to start answering one's calls "f**k Hoover" again.
