Lots of voting fun if you live in Colorado!

First, Sequoia Systems was supposed to print and mail 18,000 absentee ballots for Denver County. They confirmed to the county that the ballots were mailed.

They weren't.

Then the Colorado Secretary of State continues to purge names from the voter's rolls after a judge orders him to stop.

But just so Colorado doesn't feel all alone, a woman in Alabama has a Georgia electronic voting machine delivered to her driveway.

Now, technically, doesn't that mean that she now owns the machine?

Honestly, the voting system used on "American Idol" has more integrity than this. It will be interesting to see how long the line is tomorrow night when I bother to show up. If it's longer than a hour, I probably won't bother to vote. I'm not naive enough to believe the "one vote can matter" line of b.s.

The fact that Mexico is sending election monitors to the United States says a lot about what's happened to our election system in the last decade. Fortunately, for at least two states, this will be the last electronic voting machine election that they will have: they're going back to paper ballots. We never left them here in NM, I don't know about AZ. I'll be seeing my parents Wednesday, have to find out what kind of machines they used and how it went there (assuming my mom is working the election tomorrow.)

Lovely. On November 5th, hopefully, all of these shenanigans go to rest for a little while.

I can't say that I'm a huge Obama fan, but I firmly believe that McCain would be the equiv of Bush's third term, he hasn't said anything to dissuade me of that opinion. Thus, Obama gets my vote. I don't know that Obama is the most qualified to lead, but he has an infinitely superior Veep and I believe he will surround himself with more sound people than McCain would, as he would probably surround himself with lobbyists.

There are, of course, always the third party options, but every time I say that, I have to also mention Kodos in my head. Which I probably have before.

So, if choosing lesser of two evils, then Obama would probably be my selection, too.

The Democratic Party of Colorado sent my husband an application to vote absentee.

To our California address.

Where we've lived for the past four years.
