Doonesbury Say What?

"I'm a Christian, I've made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances. But Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did in a heartless and cruel way. And I think, personally, he should've been executed for that."
— Tucker Carlson

I think "wow" covers it nicely. I wonder what Carlson's opinion on Charles Manson and Jim Jones is.

Dunno. But I'm wondering whether Vick being a successful black athlete has anything to do with the severity of his imagined punishment. After all, this is the same QB that Rush said the NFL wanted to have succeed so that they could point to how it really wasn't any sort of racism that quarterbacks tended to be white.

I didn't know Vick was a QB, I thought he was a running back. Then again, I pay as close to zero attention to football that I can. ;-)

Fair enough on that. But yes, that's part of the reason for the furor - he's a QB, which makes him a visible figure, whether he likes it or not.
