He could have done a lot better by saying "outsourcing kills jobs" instead of trying to blame the march of technology.

Technology changes the job market profile, but it's outsourcing and off-shoring that kills jobs.

Definitely. Thing is, not a whole lot of companies are providing the retraining to turn the widget-makers into the robot-operators so that they can continue to be competitive in the job market as their companies replace them with technology and automation.
