RIP: Sarah Jane, Doctor Who's Companion

Elisabeth Sladon passed away, she'd been battling cancer. She started with Doctor #3, John Pertwee, then continued with Tom Baker and got a spin-off show with K-9. She was definitely one of the more fun and interesting companions.

She was great. I think the first Baker companion that I remember was Lela(?) and the ever popular "Shall I kill him now?" tag line, but I always thought Sarah Jane was the best and definitely cutest. I never saw any of her spinoffs.

Sara Jane was the first b/c she was already there when John Periwee left and Tom Baker took over.

But, Lela was my favorite of the companions during Tom Bakers years. I liked that tag line too.

I read about that yesterday! So sad! :( Now I really wanna check out the spin off show.

Apparently she did more than one spinoff: Sarah Jane Adventures (2010), not to be confused with Sarah Conner Chronicles, SJA: Alien Files (2010), and K-9 & Company: A Girl's Best Friend (1981). Adventures and K-9 are available on Amazon, it would seem that SJA is not yet available.

I haven't seen any of them except for the extended Dr. Who episode she did which was sort of a crossover with Sarah Jane Adventures. If you pick up any of them, I'd love to borrow them from you some time, and I'll extend the same offer if I manage to snag any of 'em any time soon.

I should have mentioned that the Sarah Jane spinoffs were written for a more juvenile market, not that that makes a lot of diff for me.

heck yeah! I'll let you know if paychecks allow me to buy those bad boys, you'll be more than welcome to borrow 'em! :D

Sarah Jane, for the few episodes that we saw her for, definitely sparked as an interesting companion. It's too bad that we lost her so early.
