Doonesbury Say What?

"I have always wished for my computer to be as easy to use as my telephone; my wish has come true because I can no longer figure out how to use my telephone."
— Danish computer scientist Bjarne Stroustrup

ROFLMAO!

Bjarne is a Dane who is a chair at Texas A&M, he invented the C++ programming language.

That is a priceless quip. Very awesome.

I don't own a smart phone. Last November I went from a dumb phone to a phone with a lot more capability, but no where near a smart phone. I've been using an iPod Touch as a PDA for over 2 years now, and I'm planning on buying an iPhone whenever they get around to releasing the 5 or the 4GS or whatever it will be probably in August. I don't know that I'll get the latest and greatest, just want to keep my options open when it arrives rather than getting a 4 now and kicking myself when the next gen comes out.

As someone who just recently joined the smartphone crowd, it's quite different having all that capability and an always-on data connection wherever you get cell signal.

I'm a half-step in to the crowd: bought a MiFi device, so I have full connectivity with my iPod Touch when I want it. The MiFi was marvelously useful during my recent travels.

I can definitely see utility with a smart phone, but I'm definitely not going to have real-time email reception turned on! (personal preference, plus I don't text message)
