I guess she doesn't realize that we have earthquakes of varying magnitude every day? Or that we have tropical storms every year? She must be on Pat Robertson's speed dial. Wonderful thing, willful ignorance.

Now, if a hurricane were to hit Bachmann's home state of Minnesota, that would be another story. I'd be far more inclined to see the Hand of God there.

Selective memory, I suspect, more than willful ignorance. Far too many things happen that knock that kind of thinking away, but people looking for the pattern don't remember seeing it.

I think more than selective memory it's "attempting to pander to your electoral base" (APEB) memory.
