I don't buy it

Granted, this year's crop of RNC candidates was perhaps the biggest bunch of idiots that I've ever seen, he did not enter the race late, he entered it early and ran with some impressive fervency. One part of his campaigning that didn't make any sense to me was him taking time off after the convention when he officially received the nomination.

No, he was in it to win.

1. Ruler of a country isn't a position one should be half-hearted about pursuing. It's the kind of job you have to be really passionate about.

2. If I were one of those people who poured millions into his campaign and heard this, I'd be looking for a chance to meet Mitt in a dark alley.

Hah! Mitt ran in 2008, too. If he didn't have the pain for it, getting whomped them would have been enough to send him away. No, he came back and ran again. He ran the campaign he wanted to, with all the deceit and two-faced-ness he could muster.

He wanted to win it. He was probably cursing all the albatrosses the Republicans handed him, as will as the skeletons in his own closet.
