NPR story about retailer security versus credit card thieves

Sadly, it looks like Security By Obscurity is still the mode they want to play, so expect more compromised retailers this season.

Because they think that talking about their security measures is an invitation for people to try and crack them? Or because they don't have any real plans and don't want people to know that?

There is a type of person who thinks any discussion of security is an invitation for hackers to give it a go, but the reality is that the criminals don't care what C-types say. They will probe anyone whom they think has a lot of money, and if they find a weakness, they're in.
