RIP: Ursula K. Le Guin

One of the greats passed away Monday at the age of 88. I think my first exposure to her was seeing the 1980 adaptation of The Lathe of Heaven on PBS, which rates, in my humble opinion, as one of the best movies that I've ever seen.

She was quite a genre breaker and shall be sorely missed.

When my near vision went I found prescription reading glasses, then bifocals, worked quite well. Then I got ‘computer’ glasses, more mid-range, for work, but keep reading glasses for detail work or comfortable reading. Then my far vision began to suffer and I got TV range glasses. I now have progressive lenses but these still give me problems even after many months. Thankfully I have an eyeglasses plan.

I must have had the wrong glasses on when I replied...

Gah. LeGuin always had a unique perspective of everything.
