Canada slaps a 25% tariff on electricity exports to the USA!

Elbows up, Canada!

New York, Michigan, and Minnesota are being hit with an export tariff on power from Canada from Ontario premier Doug Ford, in an attempt to bring the American President to the negotiating table to get him to stop this idiotic talk about tariffs and talk about making Canada the 51st state of the USA.

While I'm no fan of any Canadian politician named Ford, I think this is a great move! He is further threatening to completely stop exporting power if further threats are made against Canada. The move will generate approximately $300-400,000CA per day for Canada, which will be a nice little bonus.

Part of the Orange Dumpsterfire's justification of his moves against Canada is the "flow of fentanyl across the border", which last year, amounted to something on the order of 46 lbs. There's probably more manufactured in the USA than came across the border.

Last week the weird old guy from Florida was sentenced in his hush money trail

Last Friday the sadly (for us) once and future president was ordered back to court in New York, and appeared via a video link from Florida. This occasion was to close the case: this occasion was for Judge Merchan to sentence the convicted felon, who was found guilty of all 34 counts of conspiracy other crimes of paying hush money to Stormy Daniels, porn actress, to try to cover up the affair that he had with her after his current (third) wife gave birth to their son.

The sentence bestowed on the weird guy was unconditional discharge. Basically it means that the conviction was not voided by the judge, but there's no real punishment to be imposed. No jail or confinement, no fine, no probation. Needless to say, the weird guy and his attorneys are still going to file endless appeals to try and get the conviction overturned. However, Judge Merchan did a heck of a job trying to be as scrupulous as possible to ensure a fair and procedurally-accurate trial to reduce the chance of error and an appeal overturning the conviction. It's going to be a big lift to get this trial thrown out.

I'm not sure what this does to his voting or gun ownership rights, also in limbo is his right to possess a liquor license for his properties. He's a convicted felon regardless of no punishment.

Regardless, the weird old guy will still go into the history books as the only president sworn into the highest office in our land as a convicted felon.

Increase in disease, end of disease, and MAGA!

First off, the good news!

Egypt, after a one-hundred year effort(!), has been declared malaria-free by the World Health Organization! They experienced a huge uptick during/after the building of the Aswan Dam but have now eradicated the disease. That is really great news.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cm2yl8pjgn2o

In weird news, scurvy is making a comeback! That's right, the sailor's disease is returning. It's so easily prevented by eating fresh citrus or even taking a vitamin C supplement, yet here we are. Apparently people undergoing bariatric procedures are susceptible to it as it can screw up your metabolism and absorption.

The good thing about vitamin C is that it's not particularly dangerous to take too much of it: if you have too much, you'll just pee it away. Some other vitamins, that's not the case and it can be dangerous to take too much, such as zinc.

In bad news, McDonald's is having a problem with an e.coli outbreak related to Quarter Pounders. It has sickened a lot of people, hospitalized ten, and there has been one fatality, and the problem has not been localized to one region, so best to avoid QP's for the immediate future. It is suspected that it's either the beef or the onions, but not yet known which, though the investigation by both the company and the CDC is on-going.

49 cases have been identified, mostly in Colorado and Nebraska, dating from September 27 to October 11. However, that's self-reporting/doctor-reporting and testing. A lot more people may have been sick and not told their doctor, just toughed it out at home and recovered, which is very likely.

https://gizmodo.com/cdc-says-mcdonalds-e-coli-outbreak-kills-1-and-hospitalizes-10-2000515312

And now the fun stuff: MAGA!

The MAGA Faithful are freaking out about the e.coli announcement, saying that it's a smear campaign solely designed to make the weird felon from Florida look bad after his weekend "work shift" at McDonald's. First off, he was there for all of half an hour, in a store that was closed to the public. He was not wearing a hair net or hat, nor gloves, and all he did was scoop fries into cardboard containers (he apparently couldn't handle the complexity of working the fry station) and handing out packaged food that other workers had assembled to fans who had been previously screened.

In other words, pure photo opp.

And yet, clearly, the CDC in conjunction with the CIA and probably other TLAs orchestrated this pathogen outbreak just to make him look bad.

As if saying he needs generals to be as loyal to him as Hitler's generals is good? Seems that Mister History Student Cadet Bonespurs didn't get to the chapter that said generals made four murder attempts against Der Fuhrer.

The weird guy in Florida is RE-INDICTED for the January 6 charges!

Jack Smith has been a busy boy!

Since the Supreme Court made their rather partisan ruling that the President is immune to acts being charged as crimes while he's sitting in office, Smith empaneled a new grand jury, represented all the evidence that he had against the weird former president, excluded specific references to things that could be covered by the SCOTUS shield, and the grand jury returned the same four charges that he had before!

The weird guy is of course complaining that it is election interference, and that it's illegal to file charges so close to the election, etc.

It's hard to say how this will play out, obviously it will not come to trial before the election, but it's guaranteed to make the weird guy sweat some more.

Along with these charges being refiled, Smith is refiling the top secret documents case in the district that encompasses Georgia. I'm sure that will also be carefully edited to remove reference to the weird guy's previous job to avoid the SCOTUS Shield.

Are you ready for the latest weird ex-president's family scam?

Seems they're going to open a crypto currency financial platform. I'd say it's pretty much on-brand as he's already done NFTs and he's been talking about using crypto to eliminate the national debt, as if that would work. He's just throwing buzzwords out to try to get crypto bros supporting his sinking ship.

They've created a new Telegram channel called The DeFiant Ones, DeFi being a buzzword for this garbage. The platform hasn't launched yet.

This is going to be interesting to watch, as in a slow-moving train wreck, break out the popcorn. His family has zero experience in banking. Yes, they've sold NFTs. Yes, they accept cryptocurrency donations. And his latest financial disclosure forms shows he holds at least a million dollars in crypto. But starting a crypto platform takes a huge amount of money, much like opening a bank. And he doesn't have it. After stealing from his charity, and his extensive history of not paying contractors, why would anyone invest in something that he's most likely going to be skimming from?

I can't wait to see him follow Sam Bankman-Fried into prison, I only hope his two idiot sons are right there in orange jumpsuits right next to him.

Stuff on the attempted assassination of the weird guy who used to be president

This is interesting. The shooter only got off eight rounds before a POLICE SNIPER - NOT SECRET SERVICE - got a round off AFTER CHARGING THE SHOOTER! and shot the shooter's rifle! It damaged the rifle and knocked him from his perch. As soon as the shooter regained his perch, the Secret Service sniper shot and killed him.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4gl2jqem0eo

It's possible that the weird guy is suffering from PTSD from the attempt on his life, which is hardly surprising. Insiders report he's obsessively watching the seven second clip of him coming within an inch or so of getting killed. He's also severely cut back his barn storming and is tying to arrange for indoor venues instead of outdoor, where he was nearly killed.

The problem with indoor venues, of course, is he's stiffed so many of them without pay, that the good ones won't have him without full payment up front plus full arrears. He owes the City of El Paso, Texas over half a million dollars, and he owes venues across the country. This greatly limits the places he can appear indoors.

If he were smart, he'd be seeing someone about his mental health RIGHT NOW, as it's best addressed ASAP. But as we know, he's not smart, he's clever at manipulating people, and those aren't the same thing. He can't remotely be honest about something like how he's feeling and what he's experiencing with a therapist, so it's likely to get worse.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-keeps-watching-clip-of-himself-being-shot-may-legit-have-ptsd

The City of Palm Beach might close Mar-a-Laugho.

The Secret Service has closed the road leading to the weird guy's residence/country club since the assassination attempt, yet events continue, and say the road will remain closed at least through Election Day. The City is of the opinion that 'if the road is closed, the resort is closed' and may force it completely closed.

If that happens, no more events. Zero cash flow. Zero golfers. Zero sycophants coming in to suck up to the weird guy.

That would hurt more than his ear getting a boo-boo. I would love to hear the screams and see the Jackson Pollack Hamburger/Ketchup installation if that happens when he gets news of it.

https://newrepublic.com/maz/post/184872/trump-mar-a-lago-faces-major-threat-close-down-palm-beach

My opinion. We don't have definitive reports as to what happened with the shooting. The hospital won't release reports due to HIPAA, as well they shouldn't. The campaign won't release reports as to what the doctors did to treat him. The Secret Service report said that he was hit by 'a bullet or fragment of a bullet'. And anything that Ronnie Jackson says is second-hand: he wasn't there and didn't treat the weird guy.

I think a fragment of a bullet grazed his ear. Had it been a real bullet on a hypersonic ballistic path, he wouldn't have had a minor little boo-boo that left his ear looking perfect a week or so later. The shock wave might have left him deaf in that ear.

He got lucky. And he's still an idiot.

The Muskbrat denies that he's giving The Convicted Felon $45 million a month

About a week ago, the Cheeto Benito announced that The Muskbrat was giving him $45,000,000 PER MONTH. Of course, it's a major election law violation to give that kind of money to a candidate, much less on a repeating basis, it has to go through a Pac or Superpac, and that's what was going on here.

And now The Muskbrat is walking back The Convicted Felon's claim. Apparently he gave $45mil to a superpac that focuses on get out the vote efforts supporting conservative causes, but will not be making that donation on a monthly basis.

Which is probably a good thing. Like our previous (and cannot be forgotten soon enough) president who demonstrated liquidity problems, it would be kinda embarrassing if he had to sell more Tesla stock to make recurring donations a reality.

Judge Canon throws out the classified documents case against the convicted felon

According to the Judge's order, which is likely to be overturned on the inevitable appeal, ""The Court is convinced that Special Counsel’s Smith’s prosecution of this action breaches two structural cornerstones of our constitutional scheme—the role of Congress in the appointment of constitutional officers, and the role of Congress in authorizing expenditures by law."

Few legal scholars support her line of reasoning, and few supported her appointment to this particular circuit court. But it does serve to guarantee that this trial will not take place before the November election. And if the election goes in favor of the Democrats, it is a certainty that the charges will be refiled, this time hopefully a competent judge will be drawn.

Amongst the differences between me and a certain convicted felon....

Even though he is older than me by over a decade (1946 vs 1961), I WAS TWENTY-THREE YEARS YOUNGER WHEN I REGISTERED TO VOTE!

I couldn't believe it when I came across this today! He didn't register to vote until 1987 when he was 43! And I think I am pretty confident in saying I have a much more consistent voting participation record than he does as with the exception of one mid-term, I haven't missed a primary or general election since I turned 18. And the one I missed was when my dad passed away two years ago: I hadn't voted early and was out of state when the election came around.

I also came across a great quote by him, before he got serious about trying to get into office. He said "I believe the economy does better under Democrats." Well, he certainly proved that!

Senate Dems launch investigation into Jared Kushner receiving $2billion from Saudis

In 2021, a certain felon's son in law received $2,000,000,000 from the Saudi Public Investment Fund. From the article, "A panel that screens investments for the Saudi sovereign wealth fund warned against investing with Kushner, given his inexperience in finance, but the full board, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, overruled the panel, The New York Times reported in 2022."

The investigation is being led by perhaps my favorite Senator, Ron Wyden (D) of Oregon. Again, from the article: "A panel that screens investments for the Saudi sovereign wealth fund warned against investing with Kushner, given his inexperience in finance, but the full board, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, overruled the panel, The New York Times reported in 2022.

...

“The Saudi PIF’s decision to invest $2 billion in Affinity so soon after Kushner’s departure from the Trump White House raises concerns that the investment was a reward for official actions Kushner took to benefit the Saudi government, including preventing accountability for the Saudi government ordering the brutal murder of journalist and American citizen Jamal Khashoggi,” Wyden wrote.

Wyden’s letter asked Affinity Partners for details about its seeding investments, the investments made by the firm, as well as the fees it has received, and the amount Kushner has been paid. The company did not immediately respond to requests for comment made through its website.

Wyden’s letter represents an escalation of Democratic scrutiny of Kushner’s business activities, which have been controversial from the start. Even House Oversight Committee chair James Comer (R-Ky.), an aggressive defender of Donald Trump, said last year that he thought Kushner “crossed the line of ethics” with his Saudi deal.

Comer has overseen Republicans’ impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden, which has largely focused on business deals by the president’s son. Republicans have said he improperly traded on his father’s former position as vice president during the Obama administration."

The bit about 'business practices being controversial from the start' is partly in reference to Jared's dad going to prison for said practices, and getting pardoned by Trump. Of course, a presidential pardon doesn't erase a conviction, just gets your butt out of the pokey. I have little reason to believe that said business practices have greatly changed, especially considering how his F-I-L's haven't: he still owes the City of El Paso for protective services during the 2020 campaign, possibly from the 2016 campaign!

It's amusing that Comer would say Kushner 'crossed the line' with him so rabidly pursuing Biden and coming up with absolutely nothing after all this time. The Dems in the House can't do anything since they're not the majority party there, but Wyden can in the Senate!

Anyone want to lay some odds that a certain felon is going to start squawking about his S-I-L being persecuted by those Crooked Dems?

Man, I'd love it if they found enough evidence that a prosecution became viable and Jared found himself a felon. I don't think you can hold a securities license with that conviction, not sure about a real estate license.

A certain convicted felon is having his liquor licenses reviewed by the State of NJ

Seems that if you're a convicted felon, you're not allowed to hold a liquor license. And if you're the sole proprietor of three golf courses that have liquor licenses, that may be an issue. Thus New Jersey is investigating with the possibility of suspending or revoking his liquor licenses. This is the big mistake he made in organizing his companies: he set them up as sole proprietorships instead of LLCs. Now, that might not have made a difference, he might have had to remove himself from the boards of LLCs to continue the licenses, but that would probably have been easier like he maintained the fiction of putting his assets in a trust during his reign as POTUS.

And according to the Florida Statutes, his licenses there may also be at risk: "No license under the Beverage Law shall be issued to any person who has been convicted within the last past 5 years of any offense against the beverage laws of this state, the United States, or any other state; who has been convicted within the last past 5 years in this state or any other state or the United States of soliciting for prostitution, pandering, letting premises for prostitution, or keeping a disorderly place or of any criminal violation of chapter 893 or the controlled substance act of any other state or the Federal Government; or who has been convicted in the last past 15 years of any felony in this state or any other state or the United States; or to a corporation, any of the officers of which shall have been so convicted. The term “conviction” shall include an adjudication of guilt on a plea of guilty or nolo contendere or the forfeiture of a bond when charged with a crime."

Ruh-roh!

People frequently like a drink (or two or three) after playing 18 holes of golf. I believe this clause of not allowing felons to hold liquor licenses is pretty common: though I don't know if it holds across all 50 states, I would expect it does to prevent organized crime figures from finding a loophole for alcohol sales.

How about a little Republican 'Tough On Crime' hypocrisy?

Sen. Mike Lee, Utah:
(5/8/23) “These attacks on the Supreme Court and the justices must end. They are undermining the rule of law, endangering the security of the justices and their families and inflicting incalculable damage on our country.”

(5/30/24) “I don’t respect this verdict. Nor should anyone.”

Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio:
(9/7/22) “Crime is rising in cities throughout the country. Liberal prosecutors and their soft-on-crime policies refuse to lock up criminals.”

(1/2/23) “In real America ... criminals go to jail when they commit a crime.”

(5/30/24): “The verdict is a travesty of justice. The Manhattan kangaroo court shows what happens when our justice system is weaponized by partisan prosecutors.”

Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene:
(11/19/21) “[personal profile] clairvoyance Pressley, you owe Kyle Rittenhouse an apology NOW. We will continue to maintain that in America, defendants are innocent until proven guilty.”

Fox News host Laura Ingraham:
(8/11/22) “Vote Democrat, and repeat violent criminals run the streets.”

(6/23/16) “Paul Ryan tells a convicted felon he should resign Congress effective Oct. 3. Why not immediately?!

(5/30/24) “[The Trump verdict] “is a disgraceful day for the United States!”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (who, by the way, has a criminal record along with other family members):
(6/8/20) “I will hold those in government accountable that refuse to abide by the laws of our country. There needs to be one rule of law. For all. Regardless of if you’re an elected official or not.”

(5/30/24) “Say it with me: ELECTION INTERFERENCE.”

Sen. Tim Scott, South Carolina
“Soft on crime prosecutors routinely let dangerous criminals back on the street and put the lives of civilians and law enforcement officers ... at risk.”

(5/30/23) “I can’t believe the hoax, the sham, the absolute injustice. The justice system, D.A. Bragg and the judge should be ashamed of themselves. This isn’t just ridiculous. This actually erodes the confidence that Americans have in the justice system. Unbelievable. Un-freaking- believable.”

Former president Donald Trump:
(8/18/20) “The Democrats have to start enforcing Law and Order in their cities and states. New York City, Chicago and Portland are a total DISASTER!”

(10/12/20) “Put these animals in jail, now. The Radical Left only knows how to take advantage of the very dumb “leadership” fools. This is Biden. Law & Order!”

(10/15/16) “Hillary Clinton should have been prosecuted and should be in jail. Instead she is running for president in what looks like a rigged election.”

And a phrase of which I quite enjoy: the wheels of justice grind slow, but they grind exceptionally fine.

I was mistaken about the felonious presidential candidate and guns

Seems like I had previously heard this and forgotten about it.

Apparently he had a concealed weapons permit in New York, not sure if it was city or state, and owned an HK 45 and a Smith & Wesson 38. So those will have to be surrendered or otherwise disposed of or accounted for if they haven't been disposed of already.

Now we know that he can't get away with shooting someone dead on 5th Avenue. At least for now.

What the convicted Presidential candidate can no longer do, post-conviction

-Cannot possess a firearm. He wasn't allowed to possess one while on trial as they were felony charges. I don't think this is a particular problem for him as he's surrounded by Secret Service agents who are armed and have access to fully-automatic weapons

-His right to vote will be unimpaired. He was convicted in New York, and felons are allowed to vote as long as they are not in prison. In Florida, his state of residence, felons are allowed to vote IF the state they are convicted in allows them to vote. Pity.

-He's not allowed to serve on a jury. Yeah. Like any court would empanel him to sit on a case.

-Employment. Well, that's not a problem, it's not like he's going to apply for a job where not having a felony conviction on your record is an issue.

-Travel. This is the biggie. Many countries will not grant you entry if you have a felony conviction on your record. INCLUDING THE UNITED KINGDOM! Which means he cannot visit his beloved golf courses in Scotland! Of course, if he somehow gets elected in November, then those countries are going to have to ignore this problem as he'd be the head of state. From the article, According to the travel website VisaGuide.World, those with felony convictions are typically barred from entering countries including the United Kingdom, South Africa, New Zealand, Japan, India, Israel, and China. However, if Trump is re-elected in November, it would be a huge step for any of these countries to block him from visiting as head of state based on his felony record."

https://www.newsweek.com/what-donald-trump-can-no-longer-do-convicted-felon-1906661

From a second Newsweek article, more info on countries that Trump can no longer enter.

Based on data from the World Population Review, here is a list of countries that do not allow convicted felons to enter:

Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Cuba, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Macau, New Zealand, South Africa, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States

Additionally, there are further countries that Trump may now be denied entry to. Not all countries actively check from criminal records at the border, but they will deny entry if a convicted felon is discovered. The following countries implement this:

Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates

https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-travel-ban-1906686

Huh. So if he were to leave the United States, he could be barred from re-entry? Hmmm....

I find the list interesting, very few European countries on it.

We now have a convicted felon running for president!

A former president was convicted on all 34 charges after 7.5 hours of deliberation by the jury.

Honestly, I did not expect a sweep, I was expecting some of the charges to fail. But he badly hampered his defense, then really messed up with slandering the judge repeatedly in addition to directly disrespecting the jury by not standing when they came in. He didn't do much to try to present himself as a likable, respectable person.

It's possible that this was the tactic all along, to accept this as a loss and tie it up for eternity on appeal. Regardless, his status as a convicted felon is now cemented.

There is one thing that would wipe away the convictions, though: if he dies before appeals are exhausted. That's what happened to the head of Enron.

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/donald-trump-found-guilty-hush-money-trial-1235029425/

ETA: He was convicted of falsifying business records, i.e. trying to conceal/structure the payments to Stormy Daniels to hide them from discovery. The issue of him having had sex with Stormy was completely irrelevant. Just like his second trial re E. Jean Carrol, he had already been found guilty of slandering her, the defense in both cases were arguing the wrong points.

Normally under NY State Law, falsifying business records is a misdemeanor, but if it was "done to “commit another crime or to aid or conceal” another crime — in this case, violations of election laws", then it becomes a Class E felony, potentially punishable by prison time of 1-4 years.

The likelihood of this being the sentence is not high, more probable of a fine and probation, but it's still a felony conviction. Which means, as I recall, he cannot vote in Florida until after the probation is over and the fines are paid.

Tesla Cybertruck news, with a bit of Trump thrown in

Guy in a CT wants to apparently perform "reverse doughnuts" in front of a crowd. And succeeds in backing into a crowd of people at speed, knocking them about. Apparently no one was injured.

Just another form of ritual idiocy. The article has a video of the incident.

https://jalopnik.com/cybertruck-crashes-into-crowd-after-failing-to-do-rever-1851503733

Guy parks on an incline, gets out of his truck and scrapes his leg against the bottom corner of the door. And gashes his leg badly enough to possibly need stitches.

The article quotes from the owners manual the various ways the truck can injure you and how you should handle it.

https://gizmodo.com/tesla-cybertruck-door-leaves-a-gash-in-owners-leg-1851463705

Guy goes to a dealership to pick up his newly delivered CT (note that these are all different guys, not one guy with horrible luck and taste). He notices an irregularity on the tailgate, goes to wipe it to see if it's wipeable, and cuts himself in a geyser fashion.

The Tesla salesmen are able to patch him up without needing to invoke emergency services. He takes delivery of said truck, goes home, and thinks that 'surely enough time has passed for the wound to have closed.' Well, that's what ya get for thinking. Removes the bandage and geyser resumes erupting. Ends up at ER.

https://gizmodo.com/new-cybertruck-sends-owner-to-the-emergency-room-before-1851503680

And finally, the presumptive Republican nominee for President publicly stated that he would stop all electric vehicle sales if he returns to office.

In 2016, when he was first elected to office, approximately 160,000 EVs were sold. That number is expected to exceed ten times that in 2024 and to continue to grow. Hyundai just invested $13 billion in EV production in Georgia. The head of Ford said that they do their projections in much longer time frames than presidential election cycles. Regardless, statements like this could easily cost him more votes in the south where EV production is growing than he might think it would gain him in his base.

A Trump/Rubio ticket could provoke a constitutional crisis!

This is fascinating!

The 12th Amendment specifies how electors are supposed to cast their ballots. And one stipulation is they cannot vote for a President AND Veep from their same state!

Trump and Rubio are both residents of Florida...

Now, when Bush and Cheney announced, they had both been residents of Texas. Cheney changed his residency to Wyoming, where he'd spent a lot of years and represented them in Congress. No problem there. In this case, I can't see The Trumpster moving back to NYC.

Rubio could resign from the Senate, but he's only two years into his third term. He could move back to Las Vegas where he spent some time in his childhood, but again, he's the elected senator from FLORIDA, not NEVADA. "Little Marco", as a certain orange shitgibbon likes to call him, seems eager for the position of Veep, and is rumored to be on the short list.

Here's how a possible election could turn out, from the article:

"So let’s say the Trump-Rubio 2024 ticket wins somewhere between 270 and 300 electoral votes (which is entirely plausible; Trump won 304 in 2016 and Biden won 306 in 2020). Trump would become president, but if Rubio is denied 30 electoral votes, the vice-presidency would be determined by a vote in the Senate (as also provided by the 12th Amendment). Senators would get to choose between the top two electoral-vote winners, i.e., the Democratic and Republican vice-presidential nominees. If the Senate is still controlled by Democrats at that point, you could have Donald Trump taking the oath of office on January 20, 2025, alongside his vice-president, Kamala Harris. The mind reels."

Wouldn't that be the greatest! Prez Trump and Veep Harris?! His red face as his BP soars would be such a wonderful compliment to his orange hair!

Accused felon in NYC trial found in contempt of court, fined $9,000, threatened with jail

The prosecution cited at least ten instances of the defendant violating a gag order on social media, the judge fined the defendant for nine, each $1,000. The defendant was also ordered to remove all nine posts from social media. The judge in the case said that if violations are repeated, that "incarceratory punishment" could be imposed.

The judge also stated that he would like to charge more for the fines due to the defendant's sizeable wealth, however, this was the statutory maximum allowed.

Some think that he may be angling for this. The defendant's niece, Mary, a licensed psychotherapist, thinks this could be quite the major blow as he would be left without cosmetic products or a smart phone, the concept of someone like the defendant left in jail to confront his personal demons for a few days could potentially be quite damaging to him.

On the plus side, the defendant was told that the trial is moving at a sufficient pace and making good enough progress that the defendant would be allowed time off to go to his son's high school graduation.

Arizona announces indictments over 2020 false presidential electors!

Ah, such a lovely news night last night was! Arizona did two good things in one day - unbelievable! They started the repeal of the Civil War-era abortion law, and the Attorney General indicted eighteen people for the false elector scam that the Trump campaign tried to run, including: Rudi Giuliani and Mark Meadows, Kelli Ward, the former chairwoman of the Arizona Republican Party, and her husband Michael Ward, two serving state lawmakers - Anthony Kern and Jake Hoffman.

The charges include conspiracy, fraud, and forgery. From the article: "The 11 people who had been nominated to be Arizona’s Republican electors met in Phoenix on Dec. 14, 2020, to sign a certificate saying they were “duly elected and qualified” electors and claiming that Trump carried the state. A one-minute video of the signing ceremony was posted on social media by the Arizona Republican Party at the time. The document was later sent to Congress and the National Archives, where it was ignored."

The funny thing was that while Governor Ducey was signing the document finalizing the count, his phone rang with a Hail To The Chief ringtone - it was Trump. Ducey hit Ignore and finished his task.

An unnamed former American President has yet to be revealed. And it's rumored that a former aid to a former American President is singing like a bird to avoid being charged.

Florida, New York, Washington DC, Georgia, and now Arizona!

This Huffington Post article goes into details of other states that have prosecuted people for the same crime of invalid electors.
