thewayneOn April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space in the Vostok 1 space launch. 20 years later, the first NASA space shuttle launch, STS-1, happened. It was first celebrated in 2001, 40 years after Yuri's flight, and is now a world-wide event as World Space Party night.
