Or gets your car stuck in snow. I went out for pizza tonight, haven't gotten my snow tires mounted yet, and there was a nice big ol' pickup stuck in my way home. I had to back down, reverse into another road, and go back to another road that let me take an alternative way back to my street. I didn't quite make it up that road and briefly got stuck, but was able to muster enough energy to get my card sliding back downhill, turned around, and got enough speed up to get onto my street, and then it was easy getting home.
Ky previous car, an all-wheel drive Toyota Matrix (about 5" of ground clearance) I got stuck everywhere. My Subaru with snow tires is almost unstickable. But this winter has been nothing - until Thursday after midnight! I might be able to get my tires put on tomorrow, not sure yet. I beat a path to the shed where my tires are, tomorrow I might shovel out the door area and get them loaded up and down to Alamogordo. At least I got a set of steel rims with them, so a swap takes all of 15 minutes.
