thewayneBone cancer took him at age 87. Very difficult thing to treat, bone cancer. It's resistant to radiation and chemo. Still, 87 is a good age to reach by any standard.
Little Richard is known for a number of hits: Good Golly Miss Molly, Long Tall Sally, and, of course, Tutti Frutti. He also was a pioneer in gender fluidity. His first hit, Tutti Frutti, was released in 1956. He co-wrote that and Long Tall Sally while washing dishes at a Greyhound Bus station.
The Rolling Stone article says that he sang Long Tall Sally so fast because Pat Boone recorded Tutti Frutti and it charted higher than his own recording and he wanted to make it hard on Boone.
