My wife and Dave were talking about a massive case of vote harvesting fraud that happened in one of the more eastern states (I consider anything east of Texas to be Eastern). It was incredibly blatant, and the entire election had to be re-run. And it was a Republican fraud. There are always some voter fraud issues, but the percentage is also always insignificant. Until this one came around. It involved vote harvesting, operatives TELLING people how to vote, filling in ballots for them and collecting them - there are specific rules on how this must be done that vary by county or state, and these were grossly in violation. It was massive fraud. And the excuse is always that Dems do it. Except they don't.

And I won't be in the least surprised if he completely skates on the January 6 hearings. I can't watch them.

Trump knows damned well what he's doing. He knows that we know why he's doing it. But he has his cult willing to go along anyway, and he knows that too.

I mean, "the liberals are amoral because they don't follow TurboJesus" is a very old argument from that corner of the political cube. And the corresponding counterargument of "the liberals are better at following the tenets of the religion that you supposedly profess" is equally as old.

For those people, pointing out the hypocrisy doesn't work. They either have an excuse handy or they will change the topic back to whatever fabricated thing they want you to have to answer for.

I picked it up from people who were around Slacktivist, and it's a very handy way of making the distinction between the people who are flexible about politics but follow the same religion and the people who are flexible about religion but demand everyone follow the same politics.

I honestly don't understand if that man is some kind of political mastermind of manipulation or if he's demented. Surely being that stupid must be against the laws of nature!

I'm hoping that after the upcoming elections, we can have a fair, bipartisan inquiry into what happened during the 2020 election.

I hate to be a pessimist, but I highly doubt anything other then pissed off Democrats is going to come from the hearings. :( :( :(

He is a bit of an enigma.  He knew almost nothing about how government worked going in to the presidency and didn't learn a huge amount about it by the time he left.  So it's difficult to say how much he truly knows and how much is ignorant bluster.  His niece's book, Mary Trump, is a brilliant thing.  She is a psychologist and lived through some pretty horrific things including the death of her father, the brother of Donald Trump.  Her grandfather, their father, was quite a piece of work and you can see how the family construction warped Donald.

That seems to be a lot of it.  We think the Left is doing this, even though we don't have a shred of proof, therefor we are fully justified in doing it.

The grandfather fled Germany to avoid having to serve in the Army.  Came to America, joined the gold rush as a merchant.  Opened a bar/brothel, made a lot of money, which provided the core that started the family's climb to wealth.  Died in the 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic.  That was Donald's grandfather.  So the family was founded in prostitution and financial exploitation.  Lovely, eh?  But it was very screwed up with is father, especially the way that Mary's father died.  It's a fairly small book, not a long read but packed full of details.  Donald sued her, it never went anywhere.
