Plane carrying rescue dogs crashes on WI golf course, all doggies and people OK

This actually happened last November, I don't know why it's hitting my news feed now.

The plane had problems and crash-landed outside of Milwaukee, sliding across three holes on the golf course, snapping off its wings and spilling 300 gallons of aviation fuel into a marsh. The three people on-board and some of the dogs had minor injuries.

And the dogs started getting adopted out pretty much on the spot. A fund-raiser for the dogs' increased expenses rapidly blew past its $5,000 initial goal and is now sitting at $11,000.

I was thinking a small private plane and maybe three dogs. No! 53 dogs, on a turboprop plane.

That's okay, no one uses the golf course in winter anyway. Usually.

...they made it. I remember a few years back a plane was lost carrying several Spanish greyhounds to the US--and no one made it. :(

They were very fortunate for just minor injuries. The pilot did a very good job trying to control the crash.

That is sad. Yes, this was definitely a feel-good story with only minor injuries among both the hoomans and pups.

I'm glad there were no major injuries or worse from the crash. And it's heartwarming that the dogs are getting adopted out in their community.
