A goodly amount of snow last night. I leave for work about 11am. My car is pretty well covered from the blowing snow, but I don't have any problem getting down the mountain (thank you, 4WD!) So as I'm driving down, the temperature is increasing and the snow and ice on my car is melting, making for a fairly moist car.

Care to guess what happens next?

DUST STORM!

So now I have a fairly muddy car. Fortunately I'll have to fill it up tomorrow, so I'll get it washed then.

You just gotta laugh 'cause there ain't no one around to punch.

Our SUV is filthy today too. We decided to go 4-wheeling yesterday where the trees had been mowed down for a proto-housing complex. Bill wanted to see if we could get to the edge of the James River (because the developers were claiming they had lots with water views. Uh, no.

We're probably the only people who actually use an SUV to so shit like that.

I don't have the ground clearance for true four-wheeling, but it does me good enough, I don't really need high ground clearance as I'm not interested in bouncing through the forest. I went down a forest road a couple of weeks ago and I could feel the 4WD making a diff, but it was more of an unimproved road than a lack of road.

I'm not waiting simply because it's a brand-new car and I don't want corrosion to get a toehold, so I'll go ahead and get it washed tomorrow. I'm a lousy one for polishing and waxing cars, so I do what I can. It's really a skill that I should acquire.
