The fire danger in Cloudcroft, over the space of about two weeks, has gone from High to Very High to Extreme.

The storm season seems to be coming a little early this year which is good and bad. Good because it means we might get a good amount of rain. Bad because the wind is preceding it, so if a fire were to start now, it could spread very quickly.

Definitely time to build the bug-out kits. Which is a shame in a way as we'd be packing for BlingFest in a couple of weeks anyway.

Well, with any luck you'll be able to use some of what you packed for the bug-out kits for your trip. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the rains to hit soon and no fires to be around during the winds that come first.
