Stupid computer. I’ve spent 3 days waiting for a copy of Win XP Pro to arrive to reinstall my desktop, can’t find my [expletive deleted] copy of Win2K Pro, so I moved up a notch. XP isn’t bad as long as they never take away the “Classic” interface.
So I get home, eat, watch Sunday’s Simpsons, and start reinstalling my PC. Or at least trying to. Now it doesn’t seem to recognize any IDE devices, which means it can’t have an operating system installed. So it begins to appear that my problem is hardware, not software.
The computer is under warranty, but that also assumes that I can find the [another expletive deleted] receipt. I know I’ve seen it in the not too distant past, the question is finding it again.
Sigh.
