Good night, Vienna!
May. 22nd, 2005 09:57 amDon’t ask me why re: the subject, it’s the name of a album and song by Ringo Starr. I’ve been singing a couple McCartney songs recently and tonight.
Very good night tonight. Very good day today, for that matter. Had a treatment with my naturopath, she had me stop one med unless I have a problem, continue the other until I run out then continue with what I was taking before, and she gave me something new that has strong anti-viral properties that should kill anything still lurking in my system.
I followed that up with a Pilates session which went exceedingly well. Between illness and commitments, I haven’t done Pilates in over 2 weeks and I expected a pretty severe setback. As it turns out, it went better than ever before. My endurance wasn’t quite up to snuff, but aside from that, all the other exercises went very well indeed. Unfortunately I’ll only be able to get one more session in before I leave. And then Lauren, my instructor, will be gone the following weekend, so it’ll be three weeks before I do it again.
Today was hot. Damn hot. In the words of Good Morning Vietnam’s Robin Williams: ‘It’s so hot that I saw a bunch of guys in orange robes just burst into flames!’ It hit 109f today, that’s 2 degrees over the record set two years ago. Normal is 96. Last week was 96. It’s disgusting to have that high of a jump in pretty much one day.
That’s 13f above normal. Another sucky thing is that the low is only down to the high 70’s, normally at this time of year it should be high 60’s.
Fortunately rain is above average. We’re over 5.5” above normal since October 1 and 3” above our year-to-date number. Still, it’s going to be a bloody hot summer, which means nasty air conditioning bills. It’s supposed to hit 111f Sunday and maintain that for a bulk of the week. Blech.
Tonight was my bachelor party. LOTS of fun had by all! I had a great time, only had one alcoholic drink (a French Vanilla Martini, quite yummy). Lots of sushi, great deserts, and unsurpassed boon companions. It would have been truly wonderful if some of my friends who were unable to attend could have been there, but that’s the way it is. As it was, I got to see two friends whom I haven’t seen in 2-3 years, so that was majorly cool.
I had to pick up my brother and my best man, and great kudos must go out to said best man for managing the party whilst I sat like a bump on a log and later did socializing. She mobilized sushi orders and did a tremendous amount of juggling.
After dropping off my brother, I’m driving my best man Audrey home, and she’s feeling a bit guilty about not going to see the man whom she is currently seeing. Audrey called me in the afternoon and asked if she wanted me to wear a dress. Well, Zen32 can get kinda cold, so I told her to wear what she wanted but that I was concerned for her getting cold. So I pick up my brother and we head down to Audrey’s. The guy she’s seeing, Gailland, is there, he’s been helping remodel her mother’s bedroom. He’s holding a camera that I think is Audrey’s, then Audrey came out.
She was wearing a wonderful dress. Full length, fit torso and chest very nice, not strapless and not bare back, but a very exposed back: sort of like four bows/ties coming across the back.
Just a wonderful dress.
As I said, Audrey’s feeling a bit guilty about not spending time with the guy she’s seeing, so I pulled over while she chatted with him via cell. We ended up at Applebee’s drinking tea and ultimately had an sizzling apple crisp with ice cream. Quite yummy, definitely not needed after all the sushi and desert at Zen32!
I had planned on talking to Russet when I got home, but it was pushing 1am, and with the three hour time difference, I didn’t think it a good idea.
I had something else to add, some reason not to post this last night when I wrote this, but it’s definitely escaped me, so I guess I’ll post this and get on with my morning.
