I just don't get violence

I am not a fighter. Period. But if you force me into a corner and don't let me leave, you're in a lot of trouble. I've studied martial arts, I've done a lot of reading, I know how to hurt a person badly if I am left with absolutely no alternative. Unless you have a weapon, I probably won't fight defensively, I'll go all-out offense and try to hurt you as hard and as fast as I can. I have been in one fight in my life, I didn't start it, but I sure finished it. The other person ran away screaming.

I just don't get people who assault other people. I don't care what your gender is or the gender of the person that you're beating, I just don't get it. Do you really need to injure another person to feel good about yourself?

Case in point: amenquohi just posted a reference to another LJ User who was savagely kicked in the face by her boyfriend with steel-toed boots. Current tally of injuries: "My left cheekbone is fractured in 8 places, broken in 3; my eye socket is broken in two; my nose is broken; my septum is torn; my jaw is fractured in two places; my bite is off and my teeth are misaligned; part of my cheekbone is floating in my cheek; and, if he had kicked me with ONE MORE OUNCE OF PRESSURE I would have died." I don't know how many operations that will take to put right, but it'll be several, and I think it's likely that she'll have permanent problems with her nose and sinuses.


It is believed that he has crossed the state line from Louisiana back to Alabama, which makes it a Federal crime. There is a very interesting angle to this case. First, Niamstar, the girl who was assaulted, has received almost 600 replies to this post! Second, she posted this turd's LJ blog, LiveSpace blog, and AIM login. His LJ blog is empty, he either cleaned it out or he just used it to read his flist. But his LiveSpace blog.... oh, my!

There are hundreds upon hundreds of death threats on it. Literally. Hundreds. His photo has been passed around all over the southeast, and there are people looking for him. And if the wrong people find him, he is dead meat. Now, a lot of this is probably just angry outrage at what he did and a lot of those people will do nothing except maybe keep an eye out for him and call law enforcement if they see him, but there's enough of the population that is just crazy enough that they would probably do him in if they find him. If he's smart, and he has seen his MySpace account recently, he'll turn himself in. But based on the ego that I've seen in his posts (IMO) he ain't that smart.

Yeah, go ahead and ask me what roleplaying games that I can name!

I belong to two survey services, a few times I week I'll receive an email about something they want to ask me about. One of them awards points that you can cash in on stuff, the other enters you into drawings that generally are awarded as Amazon gift cards. I've received at least four cards from the latter.

Well, tonight I get home and there's a survey waiting for me. They asked me what roleplaying games I could name. HAH!

Turns out the quiz was for AD&D 3.5. Apparently WotC was looking for some marketing info. I told them that I played it but no longer do, but that was long before WotC existed. I'd love to see the face of the marketing wank who reads my survey response and sees all these games listed! It'll also be interesting to see what other games people list. (hint, hint)
