I got a new printer!
May. 1st, 2006 12:15 amI had been planning on buying a new printer when my tax refund came in. Well, it came in!
I got a Lexmark X7350. Though it's an all-in-one with a copier and fax machine, it can produce photo-grade output with the correct cartridge. It will also take an extended life black cartridge, which is something that I'll probably be using. I had planned on buying a little Lexmark $70 all-in-one, but then I noticed that they had two other models, the 7350 being the best of the three and only $140. The other two were not photo-grade.
I bought it Friday night. Got it home, eagerly tore into the carton, set it up, and found that not only did it not come with a USB cable, but that I couldn't find one. I have at least a half dozen USB cables lying about, couldn't find a one. So Saturday night I get a cable, but I'm really beat by the time I get home (this is Day 14 of working until 10pm Monday-Thursday and 8pm Friday-Sunday). So I go to bed.
Sunday night I set it up! Installed really easily, and the scanner is FAST! It will scan an 8x10 black & white print in a matter of seconds!
I'm quite pleased. :-)
I also posted four photos to a new community that I just joined, Photographers.
