An inside story as to what went wrong with making the new Superman movie

I thought I had posted this here last November after having posted it on another board, but apparently I didn't. Basically it's a fairly exhaustive study of most, if not all, of the horrors that happened during the development of the current Superman movie.

Some of the things that they wanted to do are absolutely frightening. I am not understating the previous sentence. It's also a pretty long read. And if you think the giant mechanical spider in Will Smith's Wild Wild West was bad -- that spider was originally intended for Superman!

I have very little desire to see this film. It's going to take absolutely amazing reviews and record-breaking (on the high end, not the low end) box office performance before I see this flic.

I have no problem with across-the-board tax cuts, I have big problems with disproportionate tax cuts.

And of course, the economy has done so swimmingly since he's been in office! Just ignore the fact that he's borrowed more money from foreign investment sources than all other presidents in history.

I sent a comment to a friend of mine whom I went to highschool with, he is in the process of becoming a naturalized Mexican citizen. The subject was "It looks like someone got a call in the middle of the night from Washington." This is his reply:

"And that is why so many want a Socialist government which won't be cowed by Washington. In reality, this was political posturing designed to scare the crap out of the US (it seems to have worked) and to create an atmosphere of informal relaxing of drug laws in Mexico. It is silly to throw every person who has ten grams of weed into prison at state expense. That's for the US which can afford that kind of window dressing in election years. "Oh look! We're getting tough!" Americans lap up that crap because they have lost the ability to think.
