Finally joined the big TV generation!
Jun. 15th, 2013 12:06 pmBought a 39" Vizio last night, sadly Walmart was the most sensible place to buy it from since our local selection is so poor. But it's very nice, set up was quite easy, and it has a great picture. This morning I got the Tivo remote programmed to work better with it, tonight we'll probably watch our first DVD/Blu Ray. Having sold TVs back in the early '80s, I find it scary that a 39" TV is only 26 lbs., I remember doing myself an injury with those big 19" Sony's back in the day.
I made one mistake in that I should have picked up a pair of HDMI cables, I forgot to ask/check if any were included in the box, but I might have one that I bought for a failed experiment back in our post-tree recovery, hopefully I can find it this afternoon. It's very easy to change the aspect ratio through the Tivo remote, so Russet is quite happy with that, and I am very pleased with the sound quality. I'll still hook up my stereo when we finish re-doing our living room, but I'm happy to wait on that one.
It's a very nice upgrade from our 26" CRT TVs.
Now to shoot a photo of the receipt and send it to the insurance people! (my scanner died)
