thewayneWarren Ellis invented a DC/Vertigo comic several years ago called Transmetropolitan. I stumbled upon it and was immediately hooked, unfortunately it was well into the series and I had very little hope (or desire) of scrounging up the early issues, so I just went with the flow.

And if you go up one level on the web site, there's all sorts of first issues available for download...
Transmetropolitan is a very strange comic. Basically take Hunter S. Thompson/Uncle Duke and let him loose on a dystopic near-future. Very crazy stuff. When I started reading the series Spider was carrying a weapon: a bowel disrupter. It had four settings.
Definitely a strange comic.
