Uhh, sorry. Wrong news pile.
There is a rumor circulating that Sam Raimi might be picking up a contract with the holders of film rights to Doc Savage, The Shadow, and The Avenger. Could be a source of major w00tage! I really enjoyed the Doc Savage film from the 70's, yes, it was cheesy, but it was so much fun! I'd much rather see a DS movie series than a Spider Man or Fantastic Four series series. Here's hoping.
And here's the link to the rumor, my PC is comparing Tuesday's WoW patch and has spotty internet connectivity right now for such plebeian pursuits as surfing. http://movies.ign.com/articles/749/749557p1.html
The other movie news bit is Beau Bridges saying that there's serious discussion of Star Gate: One returning to the big screen. I liked the original movie to a degree, mainly because I'm a sucker for just about anything with Kurt Russel in it. But I'm not a big fan of Egyptology and related, so parts of the movie and lots of the early SG:1 TV series turned me off. But I've really come to like the series, so here's hoping. I'd also like to see SG: Atlantis on the big screen, and if SG:1 makes it, SG:A might.
