It looks like I'm going to upgrade my phone next month, and it looks like the Razr is about the only one that does what I want it to. Does anyone have any opinions on them?
If you choose a Razr, see if you can get a Razr V3xx... That's the one I use. UMTS, 2 1.3 Mpx cams(one facing out and one facing in for video calls), .3GP compatible, MicroSD flashcard slot, plays videos in .3GP and music in .mp3 (128 kbit), conference call capable, internet capable (if your provider lets you), mine came with two games (bowling and Tertis, both in Java)...
Oh, and when you attach it to your computer via USB, it instantly starts recharching... :)
And the look strongly reminds me of the communicator they have in Enterprise... ;)
Of course, this was the first-generation Razr, which I think got a pretty poor overview all around. I guess they've gone back and reworked the newer generations, fixing some of the problems (constant call-dropping, a weak hinge, less than 10 megs of memory, low battery life, to name a few. The keypad's still the same flat thing though, which I didn't like because my thumbs liked to slide off the keys to the wrong ones), but I wouldn't go with even a new one again.
If you have them available, I'd highly recommend either the LG CU400 or CU500 instead. Very nice phones, and the CU500 even supports MicroSD cards. It does everything my Razr ever did without the hassle.
I haven't met anyone one who was satisfied with their Razr. I skipped past it and went for the Nokia 6133. I have no idea what you want a phone to do, but for me, this is great. It's a lot more durable, and the menus are totally customizable.
I'm probably not quite on the techno level you are, but I like it. I've just heard consistently bad things about the Razr. But I can't say I've heard anything at all about the newer ones.
