His company-provided cell phone, that is. Unless you live in Connecticut or Delaware, you don't have to be notified.

The important thing here is that it was a company cell phone. I'm thinking it would be a privacy issue, like HP's pretexting problems that arose a couple of years ago while they were trying to identify an information leak, if your employer tried it with your private cell phone.

I'm sure there will probably be a union appeal in the near future.
