A water printer

thewayneFollow me here. Now, at a basic level, you know how a dot matrix printer works, right? You have a stack of like 10 pins, a solenoid behind the pin goes THWACK! and pokes a ribbon which forms a dot on the paper. By moving this print head back and forth across the paper and controlling when the solenoids fire, you form letters and images.
Now, envision the print head going all across the width of your paper. OK?
Now, replace the paper with air, and the print head with water pumps.

They can print anything by controlling how they time dozens of valves going across the width of this frame, forming falling letters and graphics.
It is ALL KINDS of awesome! If you mute your sound, it's like watching an acetate screen with printing on it scroll by.
